Do you know the answers?

4 questions most hotels cannot answer

Reception knows who is at the door. What takes time is seeing the whole day at once — who is arriving, who is leaving and who is staying long — without looking each guest up in the PMS.

1

How many rooms are occupied at the hotel right now?

2

Who is arriving today, and who is leaving?

3

Who are your long-stay guests, and how long are they staying?

4

Can reception quickly find a guest by name, room, rate code or agent?

This is what you see

Today's guest list — who is here, and who is on the way

Today at Silo Stay: 67 arrivals, 42 departures and 88 in house — and 53 arrivals tomorrow. The list shows each guest with status, name, stay, nights and company or agent — as in the module.

Illustration with demo data (SiloStay). The real module shows your own figures.
  • ✓Occupancy for the day — occupied rooms out of the hotel's capacity — for today and the coming days
  • ✓Arrivals and departures — number of rooms and number of guests — plus the named list
  • ✓The long-stay marker — the long stays marked by the hotel's own threshold, with the "Nights" column
  • ✓Search across everything — name, room number, rate code, agent, market segment and company
  • ✓Updated every hour — and the page says so itself if the figures are more than 90 minutes old
How it works

2

Fetched every hour

Arrivals, departures and guests in house — without manual lookups.

3

Open the day

One look for reception: who is arriving, who is leaving, who is staying long.

Where the answer is

In-House shows today — the modules show why

In-House shows today. Why the house looks the way it does lives in the modules that read the bookings over time.

Questions and answers

What hotels ask us

Do we need to set anything up before the module works?
Almost nothing. In-House shows arrivals, departures and guests in house from the first sync with your PMS. To see occupancy, the hotel's number of rooms must be registered under Hotel settings — until then an administrator sees a reminder instead of the occupancy card. The long-stay threshold is 7 nights until you change it in the same place.
How often are the figures updated?
Spectra and MEWS are fetched every hour; TecHotel continuously, as the PMS sends changes. The page reloads itself every 5 minutes while it is open. At the top it says when the data is from and how many minutes ago — if the figures are more than 90 minutes old, it is highlighted.
Why is occupancy marked «estimated» — and why can it show more than 100 %?
Occupancy is calculated from the reservations your PMS has sent us — not from who is actually sleeping at the hotel. Today's figure is counted while the day is still under way: new bookings and cancellations can move it until the day is over, no-shows are included, and for the coming days it is what is on the books now. That is why it says, for example, "43 % (estimated)". Occupancy also counts reservations, not room numbers: a reservation without a room number counts as an occupied room, and two reservations on the same number count twice — which is why the percentage can exceed 100, and the page shows it in red. Day use is not included, because the guest does not stay the night. The calculation is under the i icon on the Occupancy card.
Does «staying now» count those who have checked in?
No. "Staying now" is calculated on dates, not on check-in: a guest is counted when the arrival is before the selected day and the departure after it. The guest's status in the PMS is fetched but not used, and no-shows are not filtered out. Today's arrivals are under "Arrivals today" and today's departures under "Departures today" — not under "Staying now".
